An organic semiconductor element 20 that functions as a strain sensor and is provided with a substrate 22 and an organic semiconductor layer 30 formed on the substrate 22 as a monocrystalline thin film of an organic semiconductor. The organic semiconductor is a polycyclic compound that has four or more rings and comprises a plurality of benzene rings and one or a plurality of unsaturated five-member heterocyclic compounds, or a polycyclic aromatic compound having four or more rings. The organic semiconductor layer 30 is formed as a monocrystalline thin film, and therefore has the same crystal structure regardless of the formation method. Applying the same strain therefore results in the same carrier mobility and yields uniform characteristics in relation to strain. It is therefore possible to provide a strain sensor having uniform characteristics.
