<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leaf seal for a turbo-machine to seal the radial gap between a stator and a rotor which has a long operating lifetime and enables higher cost-efficient sealing. <P>SOLUTION: The leaf seal 3 which seals the radial gap between the stator of the turbo-machine and the rotor 1 has many thin metal plates 4 for seal, and the thin plate 4 for seal is attached to the retainer body 6 in line and arranged around the rotor 1 of a turbo-machine conically. The seal 3 has a front plate 7 and the rear plate 8, and the front plate 7 and the rear plate 8 are attached to the retainer body 6 and extended in all circumferences of the seal 3 at both sides of the thin board 4 for seal. The seal 3 has equipment 14 which controls the axial interval d between the rear plate 8 and the thin plate 4 for seal and changes it during the operation of a turbo-machine. By changing the width d of the gap appropriately, it becomes possible to optimize a seal effect while minimizing the wear of the seal and to elongate the operating lifetime of the seal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
