<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with a touch sensor suitable for mobile apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A common electrode 43 which is for display and arranged for each liquid crystal display element is also used as one electrode (drive electrode) of a pair of touch sensor electrodes, and the other electrode (detection electrode 44 for a sensor) is newly formed. Furthermore, an existing common drive signal (Vcom) as a drive signal for display is also used as a touch sensor drive signal. An electrostatic capacitance is formed between the common electrode 43 and the detection electrode 44 for a sensor, and touch detection is performed by using a phenomenon where the static capacitance is changed by a touch of the finger of a user. Thus, the display device is applicable to mobile apparatus wherein potential of users are not constant in many cases. Since only the detection electrode 44 is required to be newly arranged and a touch sensor driving signal is not necessarily prepared, the configuration of the display device is permitted to be simple. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
