<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer selection system for selecting a printer for outputting from a plurality of printers to an output request from a computer. <P>SOLUTION: The printer selection system includes: a mobile station allowed to move with the computer; a plurality of base stations provided fixedly at a known position; and a server connected to the computer so that the server can communicate data. The server includes: a positioning section for calculating the position of the mobile station as that of the computer, based on the reception result of radio waves for detecting a position that are transmitted from one of the plurality of base stations and the mobile station and are received by the other; a printer position database section for storing information on the positions of a plurality of printers in advance; a computer-printer distance calculation section for calculating the distance between the positions of the plurality of printers stored at the printer position database section and the position of the computer calculated by the positioning section; and a printer setting section for setting a printer having the minimum calculated distance to be a printer for outputting from the computer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
