CONTINUOUS VULCANIZATION OF SMALL-SIZED RUBBER ROLL AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously vulcanize mass-produced small-sized rubber rolls during the passage through a vulcanization tank by a conveyor while making vulcanization temp. as high as possible without using a vulcanizing vessel. SOLUTION: Both conveyor chains 2 are intermittently moved over small- sized rubber rolls 10 within a hot air vulcanization tank 1 (chains 2' are positioned when the rolls 10 are short). When the conveyor chains are stopped, both drive shafts 5c grasp the rolls 10 upwardly to be rotationally driven for 7sec to lower the rolls 10. Whereupon, the chains 2 repeat operation advancing for 3sec to stop. The surface layers of the rolls 10 receive the heat rays of an irradiation apparatus 3 to rapidly vulcanize the surface layers of the rolls 10. The rolls 10 are separated from the part under the irradiation apparatus 3 before the surface layers are overheated and the interiors of the rolls 10 are also vulcanized until the rolls are issued from the vulcanization tank 1 only by hot air.
