PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject culture medium which can selectively isolate and culture Campylobacter causing bacteriogenic diarrhea disease from excrement by admixing a selection agent that inhibit the indigenous bacteria without disturbance of growth and survival of Campylobacter. SOLUTION: This culture medium contains a selection agent that does not inhibit Campylobacter bacteria, but inhibit the Pseudomonas bacteria (for example, piperacillin, cefpiramide, ceftazidime or cefpimizole. Campylobacter fetus susceptible to growth inhibition can be well grown and readily isolated. |
