<p>There is disclosed a method for steady state modelling of temperature and humidity levels in a clothing ensemble worn by a wearer comprising the steps of: defining a steady state heat output of the wearer; defining the heat transfer resistances and water vapour transfer resistances of the layers of clothing in said clothing ensemble; defining air gap functions between the clothing layers and between the wearer and a first layer of clothing; calculating the dry heat flow and water vapour flow through the layers of clothing and the air gaps in accordance with the transfer resistances and air gap functions, and thereby calculating the total clothing ensemble heat output; comparing the total clothing ensemble heat output with the steady state heat output of the wearer; and using the comparison to prescribe a clothing ensemble such that the heat outputs correspond in a desired manner.</p> |
