PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous tape one surface of which has a tacky adhesive coated part of a constant length repeatedly formed at constantly spaced intervals and the other surface of which has no tacky adhesion to the tacky adhesive and provide a package body such as a carton or the like for a variety of relatively lightweight commodities with a handle previously formed by a simple implement and means to facilitate grasping and carrying of the package by using the tape which is wound on itself in a roll form. SOLUTION: On one surface of a continuous tape 1 of a width 'a' to be coated, an adhesive coated part A, A . . coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive (or a non-tacky thermal adhesive) over a desired length 'b' is repeatedly formed with leaving a non-tacky part B of a desired length 'c' therebetween. The other surface of the tape is coated with a silicone resin being non-tacky to the pressure-sensitive adhesive to form a release surface so that if the continuous tape is wound on itself in a roll form, the surfaces do not stick to each other. While detecting the coated part of the continuous tape and cutting off the tape at the central position of the coated part thereof, the tape can be applied in continuous succession to respective package bodies transported by a conveyor or the like.
