PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic system capable of accurately measuring an interested portion without any troublesome operations with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: An objective optical system variable in focus distance is provided on a tip part and a lever or the like for changing the focus distance of the objective optical system is provided on an operation part. By a prescribed operation by an operator, a scale information display processing unit 440 obtains scale information corresponding to the focus distance and an image synthesis part 430 synthesizes the scale information and the images of a patient picked up by the CCD and displays them on a monitor 150.
