PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining fixture fastening method and a lens meter dispensing with dotting work of a single focus lens heretofore required prior to blocking work performed before lens shape machining. SOLUTION: An objective surface of a spectacle lens is supported on an optical path of a measuring optical system of the lens meter to measure optical characteristics of the spectacle lens, and based on the measured result, a spectacle lens fastening position is determined. A machining fixture is inserted from the objective surface side of the spectacle lens, and the spectacle lens and the machining fixture are pressed to fasten the machining fixture.
