PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable control of the rotating speed of a rotor in the case of any single failure and to attempt at improving the rotation energy measurement of the rotor, in a centrifuge measuring the rotation energy of the rotor to control the rotating speed of the rotor so that the rotational energy of the rotor never exceeds the confining energy of the machine. SOLUTION: In the centrifuge, capable of performing rotational driving of various different rotors, first and second controllers have independent specified limiting values for the rotation energy of the rotor and are constructed so that, when the rotation energy of the rotor is judged to exceed the limiting values, the first controller outputs interrupting operation signals to the first interrupting device, and the second controller outputs interrupting operation signals to the second interrupting device.
