PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle that is smaller than conventional ones and is applicable to a cooling apparatus for hot rolling steel materials or the like, to provide a header equipped with the nozzle, to provide a cooling apparatus equipped with the header, and to provide a cooling method of steel plates using the cooling apparatus. SOLUTION: The chip-like nozzle 100 is used in the apparatus which mixes fluids to jet and is provided with a main passage 8 having an entrance passage 1, a mixing part 3 and an exit passage 2 arranged therein in this order, which penetrates the chip 100, and a plurality of secondary passages 4, 4 which are connected through the side 9 of the chip to the mixing part 3 and of which the flowing direction to the main passage 8 constitutes an angle of 30-60°. The entrance side opening of the entrance passage 1 is smaller than a mixing part side opening and the inclination to the flow direction of the passage side face 5 forms an angle of 5-25°.
