A computer and a control method thereof are provided to determine and output a video signal according to a video format by receiving display information of an external device, and make an audio signal output to the video format including the audio signal. An audio output part(20) outputs the audio signal. The first video signal output part(11) outputs the video signal having the first video format. The second video signal output part(12) outputs the video signal having the second video format and the audio signal by using a specific format. A switch(30) controls that audio signal is output to the second video output part. A controller(40) turns off the switch in case that the video signal having the first video format is output to the external device(200) and makes the audio signal output to the second video output part in the case that the video signal having the second video format is output to the external device. The video format is DVI(Digital Video Interface), and the second video format is an HDMI(High Definition Multimedia Interface).
