<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the increase of power consumption in an image formation system. <P>SOLUTION: Data for image formation are input through an external controller 30 to a printer 40, and the setting data of image formation conditions are input through an UI device 50. Also, the UI device 50 displays error information input from the printer 40. The UI device 50 is configured of, for example, a PC so as to be set in a stand-by status or a power saving status. When the UI device 50 is set in the power saving status, and data for image formation are input from the external controller 30 to the printer 40, the printer 40 performs image formation operation while making the UI device 50 hold the power saving status. Also, when any error is generated in the printer 40, the printer 40 makes the UI device 50 shift from the power saving status to the stand-by status, and makes the UI device 50 display the error information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
