<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating resisting potential (the potential) in Scirpus juncoides var. ohwianus to sulfonyl urea-based herbicide. <P>SOLUTION: The method for evaluating potentials of the Scirpus juncoides var. ohwianus comprises a first process assaying whether the base sequence of the seventh amino acid of the ALS domain A (the domain) in the gene of two kinds of acetolactic acid synthetase (ALS) in the Scirpus juncoides var. ohwianus is proline codons or not, and a second process assaying the presence or absence of the potential in the Scirpus juncoides var. ohwianus based on the result of assay obtained in the first process, wherein the first process includes a process selectively annealing the gene to form a template and carrying out PCR using a primer set amplifying DNA fragment comprising a domain including a base sequence of an intronic region of the ALS gene and the base sequence of the seventh amino acid of the domain, and a process analyzing the seventh amino acid base sequence based on the RFLP (restriction fragment length polymorphism), etc., using a restriction enzyme. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
