<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC-to-AC electric power converter that achieves compactness/economy of DC-to-AC electric power, by eliminating the need for a large capacity capacitor for smoothing, as well as, allows a DC power supply to operate efficiently by substantially eliminating the ripples of the input DC current (DC power current). <P>SOLUTION: An electric power converter is provided with circuits 12, 13 for forming a DC pulse array with a constant duty ratio from a DC voltage, and an inverter circuit 14 has the DC pulse array as an input voltage, and outputs an AC voltage waveform by turning the DC pulse array on/off by a pulse width modulation signal by using switching elements S1 to S4. Switching of the switching element of the inverter circuit is performed, by positioning the rise of the pulse width modulation signal, simultaneously with or immediately prior to the rise of the DC pulse array, and positioning the fall of the pulse width modulation signal, simultaneously with or immediately after the fall of the DC pulse array. Furthermore, the electric power converter includes a ripple absorption circuit, comprising a series circuit with an inductor (L2) and a capacitor (C3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
