<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily distinguish the differences between a plurality of images. <P>SOLUTION: An image storage section 201 stores first image data 251 and second image data 252 of the same size. A region storage section 204 stores the position of a display region in the first image data 251 specified by the user, and the position/shape of a transmission region. A combining section 205 sets a display region and a transmission region in the first image data 251 and the second image data 252 respectively. The combining section 205 also extracts (1) a part, in the first image data 251, included in the display region and not included in the transmission region, and extracts (2) a part, in the second image data 252, included in the display region and included in the transmission region, and combines them to create a display image.
