A pillow has a plurality of grooves and ribs extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pillow such that in use, the ribs extend generally transverse to the spine of a user. The ribs are provided under the neck and head of a user and the pillow has an uncut core that is thinker under the neck.
