<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen manufacturing apparatus which performs a reforming reaction on condition that a reforming gas having a high concentration of hydrogen can be obtained, and at the same time which can perform a separation and purification of hydrogen with a hydrogen separation membrane on a preferred condition for the hydrogen separation membrane in the same reaction vessel, and which can manufacture hydrogen compactly and at a high yield as the result. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane separation type hydrogen manufacturing apparatus is characterized in that a steam reforming catalyst layer 2 is arranged on upstream side where an inlet part 1 of a hydrocarbon and steam is defined as the upstream, in that a non-catalyst layer 3 composed of non-catalytic particles is arranged on downstream side of the steam reforming catalyst layer 2, in that further a shift catalyst layer 4 composed of a shift catalyst which performs a shift reaction of the reformed gas on downstream side of the non-catalyst layer 3, and in that a hydrogen separation membrane 5 is arranged throughout the shift catalyst layer 4, without arranging in or contacting with the steam reforming catalyst layer 2, and with at least a part being arranged in the non-catalyst layer 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
