<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for estimating a coloring value of a printer, which enables highly accurate estimation of the coloring value considering ink permeation of sheet-like printed matter with both sides thereof printed. <P>SOLUTION: Obtaining a surface image data and a backside image data to be printed on a printed sheet, calculating, from the backside image data, the basic permeation coloring value from the backside to the surface by using the correlation with the basic coloring value in case that the surface for the backside image data is white, the permeation coloring value is calculated by correcting the basic permeation coloring value by the rate of the basic coloring values of the backside image data and the corresponding surface image data. Furthermore, using the correlation with the basic coloring value in case that the surface for the backside image data is white, calculating, from the surface image data, the surface basic coloring value in case that the backside of the printed sheet is white, the surface coloring value including ink permeation detected by colorimeter is estimated from the calculated permeation coloring value and the surface basic coloring value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
