A FACE EDGE EXTRACTION METHOD USING VISUAL DIVISION HISTOGRAM ANALYSIS

PURPOSE: A facial contour detecting method using the image-segmenting histogram analysis is provided to find out the contour line in more excellent performance than the existing algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A facial contour detecting method using the image-segmenting histogram analysis comprises the following steps of: detecting a face range from a color input image(100); dividing the color image into gray images which show a bright component and one or more color components to perform the one-dimensional histogram analysis for the detected interested area(110); dividing areas of one or more among divided images which show the bright component and color components; detecting a candidate area by performing the histogram analysis for the images within divided areas; performing the AND operation for the detected images including the contour line of a face(150); and obtaining the image of the contour line finally through a morphology calculation(160).
