PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorine-containing unsaturated compound having a variety of improved reactivity, especially high reactivity in a hydrosilylation process or the like. SOLUTION: A fluorine-containing unsaturated compound (ex. n-C8F17CH= CH2) containing an impurity, having less than 5% light transmittance at 210 nm wavelength and represented by formulas Rf1CH=CH2 (Rf1 is a fluorine- containing monovalent organic group) or CH2=CHRf2CH=CH2 (Rf2 is a fluorine- containing divalent organic group) is treated by being contacted with an absorbent such as a silica gel or the like to give a correspondent fluorine-containing unsaturated compound having 5% or more light transmittance at 210 nm wavelength.
