PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a therapeutic agent for eye diseases such as glaucoma, retinal diseases, etc. SOLUTION: A compound having interleukin-1 inhibitory activity such as endogenous interleukin-1 receptor antagonist protein, interleukin-1 neutralization antibody, etc., has remarkably inhibitory action on reduction in number of cells of retinal gangliocyte layer, inhibitory action on incapacity of thinning of entoretina layer and lowering action on intraocular pressure.
