PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet, which is highly sensitive and in the image forming layer of which an image with an excellent image quality can be formed under the condition being applied to a multicolor image forming method utilizing abrasion, and the multicolor image forming method employing the thermal transfer sheet. SOLUTION: A photothermal conversion layer and an image forming layer and, when necessary, in addition, a heat insulating layer is provided on one side of a support, on the opposite side of which an antistatic layer is provided. In the thermal transfer sheet, the ratio (I/I0 ) of the non-diffuse transmittance (I) to the total light transmittance (I0 ) of a layer consisting of the antistatic layer and the support and, in addition, the heat insulating layer as the case may be is 0.8 or more within the range of light wavelength of 400 to 900 nm and 0.7 or more under the condition that the heat insulating layer is added and the multicolor image forming method employing the thermal transfer sheet is provided. |
