PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image forming material capable of forming an image of excellent image quality on an image forming layer with high sensitivity, and a multicolor image forming method using the same. SOLUTION: In the multicolor image forming material using an image receiving sheet and at least four kinds of thermal transfer sheets, which are different in color and each of which has a photothermal conversion layer and the image forming layer, to superpose the image forming layers of the thermal transfer sheets and the image receiving layer of the image receiving sheet one upon another in opposed relationship and irradiating them with laser beam to transfer the laser beam irradiated regions of the image forming layers to the image receiving layer of the image receiving sheet to record an image, a ratio OD/film thickness (μm) of the optical density(OD) and film thickness of the image forming layer of each of the thermal transfer sheets is not less than 1.50 and the recording area of the multicolor image of each of the thermal transfer sheets has a size of 515×728 mm and the resolving power of the transfer image is not less than 2,400 dpi and a specific pigment dispersant is added to the image forming layer of each of the thermal transfer sheets. The multicolor image forming method using the multicolor image forming material is also disclosed. |
