<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smelt a molten steel having high cleanliness by efficiently removing fine inclusions in molten steel in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: This smelting method comprises adding a flux which has high steam-pressure in a temperature region of the molten steel 3 and generates volatile components of easily vaporizing in the molten steel, to the molten steel; supplying the volatile components generated from the flux to the molten steel; and then removing the volatile components in the molten steel as gas bubbles, by subjecting the molten steel to a depressurized atmosphere with the use of a vacuum refining facility 1. The gas bubbles trap the fine inclusions to float them up together with themselves and separate them from the molten steel, so that the molten steel with high cleanliness can be smelted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
