A shock absorber of a vehicle is provided to improve riding comfort by properly controlling a damping power corresponding to a degree of shock. A shock absorber of a vehicle comprises a cylinder(10), a piston assembly(12), and an operation rod(14). The cylinder is filled with oil and connected to an axle of the vehicle. The piston assembly is disposed movably along inner circumference of the cylinder, and sections the cylinder into a first chamber(60) and a second chamber(62). The piston assembly is mounted to the operation rod. The operation rod is connected to a vehicle body. An oil path(32) is formed along outer circumference of the piston assembly and inserted in the inner circumference of the cylinder. A protrusion unit is formed in the longitudinal direction of the piston assembly, so that an opened area of the oil path is varied according to an inserted position of the piston assembly.
