The safety seat has vertical retaining units consisting of a spring unit (12) loosely positioned between a roof area (10) and a floor (11) of a vehicle. A seat part (14) is fastened to the spring unit via a retaining belt (15) that is fastened in a region of a front edge of the seat part. The retaining belt is fastened at a fastening device (17) connected with the spring unit. A spacer (20) for a catch belt (18) is arranged, between the catch belt and the spring unit, adjacent to the arrangement of the fastening device.
