PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle navigation apparatus and a portable terminal device for simply and surely informing a user of appointed days when the user must visit a place several times. SOLUTION: The vehicle navigation apparatus 100 comprises: a location detecting means 3 for detecting a current vehicle location; a storage means 17 for storing map data; a display means 7 for providing information through a screen; an information inputting means 2 for inputting information indicated or set by the user; and a control means 12 for implementing an elapsed day informing process for starting a measurement of an elapsed time since it determines that the vehicle initially visits a registered point specified through the information inputting means 2 based on the detected vehicle location and the map data, and displays the elapsed days (82) on the screen of the display means.
