PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-cooled heat exchanger including a light-weight cover plate easy in attaching/detaching work.SOLUTION: A water-cooled heat exchanger (1) includes a shell (2) having a cylindrical body portion (11), two end plates (12, 13) closing both ends of the body portion (11) and defining a refrigerant chamber (S1) in the body portion (11), and two cover plates (14, 15) disposed at one end side and the other end side of the body portion (11), and forming two water chambers (S2, S3) with the end plates (12, 13), and a plurality of heat transfer tubes (3) penetrating through two end plates (12, 13) to communicate two water chambers (S2, S3) in the shell (2).
