METHOD FOR PRODUCING PEPTIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a peptide having an acidic amino acid at the N-terminal and capable of overcoming the restriction on the substrate specificity of an amino acid ligase.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a peptide containing an acidic amino acid at the N-terminal includes: (A) a step of preparing a protein having an N-terminal amidase activity such as NTA1 protein having a specific amino acid sequence and a peptide containing an amide-containing amino acid at the N-terminal; and (B) a step of reacting the protein having N-terminal amidase activity with the peptide containing the amide-containing amino acid at the N-terminal in a reaction liquid thereof.
