Disclosed are an image display device capable of browsing a moving picture, and an operation method of the image display device. The image display device according to the embodiments of the present invention includes: a display part formed to output a moving picture; a recording part which starts recording of the moving picture when a first input is received; and a control part which browses the recorded moving picture in response to reception of a scroll signal from an external input device. Also, the control part captures a browsing screen corresponding to the reception time of a second input, when the second input is received while the moving picture is browsed. The image display device of the present invention enables a user to browse a desired scene or information in the moving picture easily.
