Provided is a wheel position detection device. This wheel position detection device is provided with: a transmitter (2) that is provided to each of a plurality of wheels that include traveling wheels (5a-5d) and a spare wheel (5e), and transmits a frame that includes unique ID information; and a receiver (3) that has a second control unit (33) that carries out wheel position detection whereby candidate ID information for a candidate to be registered is selected from among the ID information transmitted by the transmitter, the information, from among the candidate ID information, that corresponds to the transmitter provided to the wheels is identified, and the wheels and the ID information for the transmitters are stored in association with each other. When registering a candidate ID that is a candidate for the ID information of the spare wheel transmitter, the second control unit restrains the number of pieces of registered ID information by making registration conditions strict, and facilitates data update for a piece of ID information that has been temporarily registered as a candidate ID. |
