An image drawing device (100) comprises a light source unit(110) for outputting laser light, a sensor (115) for measuring an index related to brightness of the laser light, a scanning unit (120) for reflecting and scanning the laser light, and an image processing unit (111) for: outputting the laser light within a drawing range narrower than the scanning range of the scanning unit (120) by controlling the light source (110) so as to draw an image based on the inputted image data; outputting adjustment laser light for adjusting the brightness of the laser light outside the drawing range; stopping the output of the adjustment laser light once the output of the adjustment laser light stabilizes after a certain time period passes after the start of the adjustment laser light output; and adjusting the brightness of the laser light on the basis of the index related to the brightness of the adjustment laser light. The period of time that elapses until the output of the adjustment laser light stops is variable. |
