An image processing system according to the present invention is provided with: an image projection surface creating unit which creates image projection surface data approximate to observation subject surface data that is three-dimensional shape data of an observation subject; and a rendering processing unit which performs texture mapping, on the image projection surface data, of a captured image of the observation subject corresponding to the observation subject surface data, and generates an image to be displayed.
