An inspection processing apparatus is provided with: a verification unit which determines whether or not a commodity to be inspected seen in the captured image of the commodity can be identified using verification images stored in a verification database; and a commodity image registration unit which associates the captured image with the identification information of the commodity to be inspected and registers the captured image in the verification database if the verification unit determines that the commodity cannot be identified. The inspection processing apparatus may also be provided with a commodity image deletion unit which deletes the image stored in the verification database on the basis of a predetermined rule.
