PURPOSE:To reduce the deterioration of the luminance by continuously arranging plural pieces of sub fields with the same light emitting luminance, making them a sub field group and making write and erase operation for each cell once in one sub field group. CONSTITUTION:Three sub field groups SG1-SG3 exist, and three pieces each of sub fields with the same number of times of light emission are incorporated in respective sub field groups. Then, the number of times of light emission of respective sub fields in respective sub field groups SG1-SG3 become as shown in figure. Related to the timing when an erase pulse is applied, the timing at every sub field in a conventional example is made the timing at every sub field group. In such a amnner, in the control of the luminance in the case of constituting the sub field, the number of times of write is reduced. Thus, the deterioration of the luminance of the plasma display pannel is reduced. |
