PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane coating composition or adhesive composition excellent in curability, driability, adhesiveness, wear resistance, etc., by using a polyisocyanate curing agent which can easily form a uretidinedione structure or an isocyanurate structure and has low viscosity and good compatibility. CONSTITUTION:The title agent contains a polyisocyanate compound which is obtained form hexamethylene diisocyanate and has a hexamethylene monomer content of 0.5wt.% or below, in which 0.5-15mol% of the isocyanate groups are converted into urethane groups with a dihydric alcohol having at least two hydroxyl groups and at least one hydrocarbon group in the molecule, wherein the total of the number of carbon atoms of the at least one hydrocarbon group is 4-35 and the total of the number of carbon atoms of the at least one branched hydrocarbon group is 2-33, and which contains 21-60wt.% uretidinedione dimer and 11-40wt.% isocyanurate cyclic trimer. The title coating and adhesive compositions contain the above agent.
