Compound anchor

The anchor rod (1) with at least one conical section (20) forms the anchoring part forms a shear connector anchor for use in a tension zone. The anchor is retained in a drilled hole (6) by a joining material. When installed, the ratio of joining surface (5) to the conical area (2a) is between 3 and 4.5 and the ratio of drilled hole annular surface to the bolt cross section is 0.3 to 0.5. The joining material contains less than 5 wt. % filler materials. Preferably the anchor rod has several conical sections, of the same type, free from coatings, the cone angle being between 12 and 20 deg.
