摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a silicon carbide porous body which can form pores having a size suited for a filter simply and easily with few steps and can improve the strength by forming strong necks among the grains of the silicon carbide. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a silicon carbide porous body is provided with a molding step of molding a molded body by mixing 65-95 mass% of a silicon carbide powder as an aggregate with a silicon nitride powder and a carbonaceous solid powder wherein the molar ratio of silicon to carbon (Si/C) is 0.5-1.5, and a firing step of firing the obtained molded body by the molding step at 1,800-2,200&deg;C in a non-oxidizing atmosphere only once, wherein the carbonaceous solid powder has an average particle diameter of 10-50 &mu;m, is the carbon source of the silicon carbide which is produced by the reaction in the firing step, and can be used as a pore-forming agent which forms pores in the firing step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
