PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by unifying the drive source of a bobbin thread reel device for reeling a bobbin thread disposed on the looper base of an eyelet buttonholer sewing machine. SOLUTION: A bobbing thread reel means 50 for releasing the tension of a bobbin thread and reeling the bobbin thread is mounted on the front side of a support frame 31b of a rotating looper base 21, and a drive means 60 for driving the bobbin thread reel means 50 is mounted on the back side of the support frame 31b. Accordingly, a bobbin thread can be reeled out by the bobbin thread reel means 50 anytime without regard to the rotation angle of the looper base 21. Accordingly, there is no need to mount plural drive means outside the looper base 21 according to the rotation angle of the looper base 21 as before when reeling of the bobbin thread is necessary. As a result, the drive source of the bobbin thread reel device is unified, so that the number of part items can be reduced and the cost can be reduced as well by the simplified assembly work.
