PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the efficient washing of a tableware washing machine with conserved energy by selectively disposing a cleaning course starting from a water feed operation and having a washing stage and a rinsing stage. SOLUTION: This tableware washing machine is provided with the washing stage starting from the water feeding operation for carrying out washing by feeding a washing tank detergent, such as citric acid, into the washing tank and the rinsing stage for draining the contaminated washing water and rinsing the washing tank, and the like. The respective stages are composed of draining, water feeding and washing operations and the cleaning course is ended by executing the final draining after the final rinsing stage. Then, the washing of the tableware washing machine body with the conserved energy is made possible. In addition, the washing is started from the water feeding operation without carrying out the draining operation at the start of the operation and, therefore, even if the washing tank detergent is fed into the washing tank in the state that the washing water accumulates therein, the worry about the discharge of the washing tank detergent to the outside of the machine by the draining operation is eliminated. Since the tableware washing machine is maintained always in the clean state, the tableware may be washed and finished to a clean and hygienic state at all times.
