<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire eliminating the need for taper machining on the proximal end of a resin coating layer and capable of preventing the distal end of the resin coating layer from being caught by a medical appliance used combined with the guide wire. <P>SOLUTION: This guide wire 1 includes: a wire body 2 having a core wire 3 with flexibility and bendability and a coating layer 7; a helical coil 4; a resin coating layer 6; and an annular member 5. The annular member 5 is provided on the proximal side of the resin coating layer 6 to bury a stepped space between the proximal end of the resin coating layer 6 and the wire body 2. The outer diameter of the distal end 52 of the annular member 5 and the outer diameter of the proximal end of the resin coating layer 6 are substantially equal, and a distal end face 53 of the annular member 5 is joined to a proximal end face 61 of the resin coating layer 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
