Domestic equipment comprises a plurality of free standing domestic electrical appliances (12), (14), (16), at least two of which are for the preparation of foodstuffs. Each of the appliances has a different respective function and comprises an outer housing (18) having a flat upper surface (22), side surfaces (20) extending downwardly from the upper surface (22) and a flat front surface (24) extending between the side surfaces. Each housing is shaped so that the appliances can be juxtaposed with contiguous side surfaces on a horizontal support surface with substantially flush upper surfaces and substantially flush front surfaces. This enables the surfaces of the surfaces of the housings which are exposed to dirt and grease to be quickly and easily wiped clean.
