<p>The method involves multiplying symbols of signals with unknown coefficients. The signals are coded with an Alamouti-time-block code. The signals are transmitted by separate transmitting antennas (22, 23). Symbol hypotheses are determined for received symbols, where each symbol hypothesis corresponds to hypothetical transmission symbols. A metric is established for the each symbol hypothesis, where the metric specifies probability of applying the symbol hypothesis. The metric is formed by determining a distance of the hypothetical transmission symbols to next allowable receiver symbols. An independent claim is also included for a device for decoding signals.</p> |
