1. A machine-implemented method, comprising:
generating, by a server, a first user identifier associated with a first user; providing, by the server and via a network, the first user identifier to a first client device; generating, by the server, a second user identifier associated with a second user; providing, by the server and via the network, the second user identifier to a second client device; receiving, by the server and via the network, first user data and the first user identifier from the first client device; receiving, by the server and via the network, second user data and the second user identifier from the second client device; determining, by the server, a similarity score for the second user relative to the first user based on comparing the first user data and the second user data, wherein determining the similarity score for the second user relative to the first user includes:
identifying that at least a predetermined portion of web pages visited by the first user has been visited by the second user based on the first user data and the second user data; anddetermining search terms used when performing searches through a search bar based on the first user data and the second user data; receiving, by the server and via the network, user interaction data and the second user identifier from the second client device; determining, by the server, an engagement score representing an amount of engagement by the second user with a web page based on the user interaction data; and providing, by the server, a link to the web page to the first client device of the first user if the similarity score satisfies a similarity threshold and if the engagement score satisfies an engagement threshold. |
