[Problem] To provide an electric compressor which has a shape such that the contact ratio between a stator core and a housing in a circumferential direction is nearly full peripheral contact between the stator core and the housing, and in which partial deformation of the stator core can be minimized even when the strength of the housing partially increases because of the structure of the housing. [Solution] An electric compressor 1 in which an electric motor 4 and a compression mechanism 3 are accommodated in a housing 2, and a stator core 17 of a stator 15 constituting the electric motor 4 is secured by interference fitting to the housing 2, wherein the housing 2 has strength-increasing sections 27, 28 in which strength is increased to be greater than other sections by attachment foot parts 21, 22, and concave parts 23, 24 as sections that do not make contact with the outer peripheral surface of the stator core 17 are formed in the sections where pressing force acts on the stator core 17 side from the strength-increasing section 27, 28 sides in the interference-fitted state. |
