<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an outline correction characteristic which is linear with respect to a controlled variable by applying a signal, generated by adding the correlation quantity and high-frequency component quantity between horizontal scanning lines of a video signal, to an outline correcting circuit through a nonlinear correcting circuit. CONSTITUTION: A video signal is inputted to a one-horizontal-period delay unit 2 and a correlation detector 1 to obtain a correlation quantity between horizontal scanning lines, and the quantity after being integrated 3 and generated with a DC component is digitized 4 and inputted to an adder 8. Further, the video signal is inputted to a high-frequency filter 5 to detect high-frequency components, which after being integrated 6 and generated with a DC component are digitized 7 and supplied to the adder 8. The output of the adder 8 is inputted to a ROM 9, which stores inversely corrected values of an outline correction controls signal as a reference table, and the output of the ROM 9 is converted 10 into an analog value, which is applied to an outline-correcting circuit 11. This constitution can linearly form the extent of preshooting or overshooting added to the video signal.</p> |
