PURPOSE:To appropriately display an image generated at right and left blank parts based on an image with aspect ratio of 4:3 when it is displayed on a high-vision screen. CONSTITUTION:The signal of a TV image, etc., from a video signal input part 1 is digital-converted by an A/D conversion part 2, and is converted to parallel data by a serial-parallel conversion part 3, and it is recorded on field memory 4 and field memory 5 alternately by every picture element. Those data are read out, and images to be displayed at the right and left blank parts of the TV image, etc., are generated by an image processing part 6 and an image processing part 7 setting a signal from a reference signal generating part 11 as reference via a control part 14 based on the setting of a setting part 13, and they are synthesized to the TV image, and are converted to serial data by a parallel-serial conversion part 8, and are converted to analog video signals by a D/A conversion part 9, then, they are outputted from an output part 10. |
