PRODUCTION OF PHYCOCYANIN

摘要

PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain in high yield phycocyanin useful as an edible natural blue coloring matter by culturing and proliferating cyanobacteria in an aqueous medium incorporated with an extract from photosynthetic prokaryote followed by extraction of the aimed compound from the microbes produced. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound, phycocyanin, can be obtained by culturing and proliferating cyanobacteria belonging to Chlorogreopisis such as ATCC 27181 in an aqueous medium incorporated with an extract from photosynthetic prokaryote such as Rhodopseudomonas acidophyra (ATCC 25092), followed by extraction from the microbes produced.
